Sunday Sound: A Season of Ritual at Soho House Copenhagen
Some evenings ask to be marked. Not with noise, but with attention.
This spring, AETHER. and Soho House Copenhagen have been quietly building one such evening. Every Sunday at five, members gather for Sunday Sound — an hour of breath-led movement, crystal sound, and scent, designed to close one week softly and open the next with clarity. It is a simple ritual. We begin with a vinyasa flow — breath leading movement, movement returning the body to the present.
As the practice settles into stillness, a crystal alchemy sound bath takes over: gemstone-infused bowls vibrating at refined frequencies, resonating through the body, the nervous system, the emotional field. And throughout, the room carries the soft, smoke-light presence of Japanese incense from AETHER. — not to perfume the space, but to mark it. To make the hour feel set apart. A season, not a single session Sunday Sound was never meant to be one evening repeated. Across May and June, the series moves with the season. It opens with Soft Light — a grounding arrival as the new light settles. It softens into Quiet Bloom and Inner Tide, sessions about flow and inner rhythm rather than effort. Under the full moon, Full Release makes space to let go of what no longer serves. Then the light begins to rise.
Open Horizon clears and integrates. Slow Expansion opens the body toward the longest day. And the arc closes with Solstice Glow — a midsummer ritual at the peak of the light, a moment to honor what has grown and set intentions for the second half of the year. You can come to a single session, or move through the whole arc as a season of practice. Each one stands alone. Together, they tell a quieter story about the turning of the year. Why scent belongs here AETHER. was born from the Japanese art of Kōdō — the “Way of Fragrance,” the practice of quietly listening to scent rather than being saturated by it. It is a philosophy that sits comfortably beside the Scandinavian instinct to light a candle and find a pocket of calm.
Our Incense No. 01 is hand-rolled on Awaji Island, made without a bamboo core for a purer, less smoky aroma, then assembled by hand in Copenhagen. In a sound bath, that subtlety matters. The incense is there to deepen attention, not compete for it — a natural tool for ritual, the same way the bowls and the breath are tools. It is exactly the kind of moment AETHER. was made for: when you want the ritual of scent, but find a scented candle overwhelming.
A meeting of two houses Soho House has always understood that a space is more than its walls — it is an atmosphere, carefully held. That is the same belief at the center of AETHER.: that anyone can be the architect of their own atmosphere, curating the energy of a room with intention.
Sunday Sound is where those two ideas meet — a house known for bringing people together, and a brand built around the quiet rituals that help them arrive.
Join Sunday Sound runs Sundays, 17:00–18:00, at Soho House Copenhagen, guided by Tiffany, founder of AETHER. and a founding member of the house.
The sessions fills up quickly often waitlisted — members can join through the Soho House app. Come to ground, reset.
